Those Curious 50's!

After yesterday’s post, I had to go back and read more tonight. I was reading July 1953 Good Housekeeping and was releaved to find something interesting for the “other end”. The ad says Listerine is EXCELLENT for dandruff. Infectious Dandruff. Which I have to admit I didn’t know much about. So I looked it up. Infectious Dandruff is now considered a myth. All I could think was how much that would BURN! I mean listerine is quite a dose already…add to it a painful, raw itchy scalp. YIIIIIKKKKEEESSSS!

You can follow any responses to this entry through the RSS 2.0 feed.

My mom used to use listerine on our scalps sometimes. You are right…ouch! anyways, I am doing a Valentines giveaway on my Oak Cottage blog if you or any of your readers want to pop on over there and have a look!

Curious indeed! I have a book my Gt Grandmother made in the early 1900’s. It is filled with many household tips. One section is home remedies, which makes me very grateful for anti-biotics and other such ‘luxuries’. I have started posting some of these household tips – do you mind if I put a link to this post on my blog?
Thanks…..Arlene

OH MY! I love your blog…love it, love it! You may certainly link to anything you like on mine! I would be honored.

Listerine, huh? That would wreak havoc with my bleach blonde hair, I fear.
