Lovely, Louisiana!

And its rainy Springtime! I am going to venture into town today and see about picking out some flowers for my window boxes and big pots on my porch.

After our whirlwind (seemingly misguided at times) vacation to Paris and beyond, I am ready to get to something domestic.  Cooking, cleaning, sewing, planting…all the things near and dear to my heart.

I have gotten a couple of emails from kinda “sorry you had to cut your trip short”…believe me we didnt regret the trip at all…just over shot what we were capable of in terms of being away from home.  And I knew going in it was going to be a very VERY big sacrifice for Husband to be gone 3 months, and I wondered how he would fare.  And know we dont have to find out!  And he is already talking about “next trip”, so he is definitely okay with the outcome.

We ran into the city yesterday to let the girls do a little shopping and pick up a few things we needed.  Planning on a big weekend with cooking steaks and visiting with our grown up kids.

Have a very Fine Friday!

Welcome home safe and sound. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Sounds as if you had a good time but are grateful to be home.

Welcome home! So glad that you enjoyed your trip and are looking forward to the pleasures of home!

Blessings,
Lea

Well it sure sounds like you packed a lot into those few days! No wonder you were exhausted, and on top of jet lag at that! Sounds like you had a wonderful time though, which is good. A bit dissappointed we did not get to meet, but then, there’s always September! Be prepared to walk your feet off in London!

Hi, I am a new reader of your blog, and I just want to say that I soooooo understand your feelings about your trip to Paris. it is an overwhelming place….hubby and I went for two weeks in 2001 (you can see my 10 posts about it under “Paris 2001″ on my blog), and there were so many times I wished we could just stop and come home, but it was not possible. It took me a few years after that to finally decide it really was a wonderful place to visit, but also horrible and stressful….anyway, I enjoyed your Paris Diary and welcome back to the USA and your beautiful, rural Louisiana! We felt just the same.

So glad you are back home…what an adventure! I bet it’s a great reminder of the blessings you have.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Susan – I just popped in on the offchance that you might have posted from Paris and here you are home again.
I understand perfectly why you cut your trip short. I’m a home bod myself and though I love to see new things and different places I always count the days til the day we head home again. One week is my max to be away!
We just bought pansies to fill a pot for the front step – that’s a sure sign of spring for us!
Nice to have you back. Barbara x
