Recipe of the Day #2: Tandoori Rub for Lamb or Pork

Husband made this originally for lamb chops (my favorite) but lamb chops are impossible to find here.  So we use it for pork chops.

In a dry skillet, toast the following until aromatic:

  • 2 TBSP cumin seed
  • 2 tsp fennel seeds
  • 2 tsp cardamom seeds
  • 1/2 tsp whole black peppercorns

Let cool and grind with 1 1/2 tsp dried crushed red pepper in a spice mill.  We actually bought a coffee grinder specifically for griding spices.

Pour into a bowl and mix will with 2 TBSP minced fresh ginger and 4 garlic gloves, minced.

Rub mixture all over chops and refrigerate 3 hours before grilling as you usually do.

And Thanks Again! I am so happy you gave us the recipe to all three that I really wanted.

Oh, by the way, I am new to your blog and LOVE IT! I am an apron person too and found this blog looking for aprons.

It is the only blog I have ever added to my favorites so thanks for sharing!
