Our sad, sad tree:

We lost one of our lovely oak trees that has been home to a well used rope swing for almost 13 years now.  But the big old thing had been struck by lightning several times and was more than half dead.  I will miss the swing and the shade the tree provided but will rest in the thought that at least now we wont be crushed by it in our sleep.  Every time a little wind came up we would lose large very heavy branches.  With memories of Hurrican Rita still fairly fresh in our minds, we decided not to take any chances.  So the men with tractors came first thing this morning and felled the tree.  Now Husband is cutting it up and moving it.

Wow… That will be a change. My kids loved that swing too!
