From the mind of Rachel

We are FINALLY cleaning out our school shelves.  We like to wait till it seems like an insurmountable task.  Anywho, in looking thru an old (VERY old) notebook we found this from a literature lesson of Rachel’s when she was in 5th grade (she is 16 now).  The assignment was to read a story called A Boy and A Man and write an epilogue.  Here is her work:

Rudi went on to become a professional mountain climber in Alaska.  He and Captain Winter even attempted to climb Mt. Hood in Washington but failed miserably due to a freak accident involving a mountain elk and a cigarette lighter.  Rudi married an archeologist by the name of Trish four years later.  They had three beautiful children before Rudi quit his dangerous job in favor of a small cubicle at a q-tip company.  He died in a car wreck at age 33.

I thoroughly enjoyed finding it! I think her weird sense of humor was already quite developed.

She does have a great sense of humor. Thanks for sharing.

Yep! That is for sure from Rachel’s mind! I just love her!! Ha Ha

That is awesome. I love to see what kids come up with on their own like that!! What a fun thing to save too!!

It definitely shows promise, that’s for sure! I wish I had more of my children’s schoolwork saved . . .
