Start slow and taper off.

Yeah, I am still having motivation issues.  That’s pretty obvious I guess.  So instead of just ignoring all of you I will give you another recipe and give you a little heads up on a giveaway I will be posting in the next few days.  I “used to” do a giveaway when I felt down, unmotivated and blue.  Well after several months of being a nice shade of navy, I think it’s time to at least try.

Giveaway Hint: Think retro. That’s it for today.

Also a little peek at one of my “projects” I am working on:

Not ready to reveal any more just yet 😉

Now your recipe:

3 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter
3 cups white sugar
6 eggs
1 teaspoon lemon extract
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup buttermilk

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F . Grease and flour bundt pan. Mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

In a large bowl, beat butter with sugar. Mix in the eggs, one at time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the lemon and the vanilla extracts. Gently mix in flour mixture alternately with the buttermilk. Pour batter into the prepared pan.

Bake in preheated oven for 90 minutes. Do not open oven door until after one hour. When cake begins to pull away from the side of the pan it is done. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and cool completely.

Have a great weekend!

I love cats and I love giveaways, I’m anxiously waiting for more hints!
In the meantime, I’ll just have to bake the delicious cake recipe you just posted!
I hope your weekend is good too.

Sorry to hear you’re feeling blue, I’m with you! Going to try this recipe this afternoon, and thanks for offering a giveaway. looking forward to learning more about your next project!

Susan… Anything with buttermilk in the recipe is always yummy and moist and worth eating…. thank you so much for this recipe… and hope your heart is smiling again real soon…. a lot of us REALLY LOVE YOU!

Love and happy baking,
Victoria in Houston

Well that cake sound great. It’s going to rain here tomorrow and I’ve been wanting to bake something so I may give that a try. Sadly I won’t be able to eat it as I’m on Weight Watchers and trying to stay away from cakes and stuff.

That cat is darling. What are you working on???? I can’t wait to see.

Sometimes if you just try to fake being in a great mood and pretending everything is lovely your mind starts to believe it and you find your mood changing. Give it a try.

I hate hearing you are down.

I, too, love cats Susan and this one looks very sweet. Can’t wait for the big reveal! As ever, I keep you in my prayers and special thoughts. WE have been dealt a huge blow as well. I was just made redundant at work and as such we have lost our home as well. We are just reeling over it all, and trying to formulate a new plan for our lives. We will be ok though, the Lord is faithful and just, and you will be ok too. ((((hugs))))

Oh MARIE! Hugs back to you. Nothing like seeing a glimpse into someone else’s life to put your own in perspective. I read it yesterday but haven’t known what to say that hadn’t been said. I know you are just shocked and hurt and the uncertainty must be overwhelming. I know something will come up. Something better. No warning? Just “we no longer need your services”. How awful. I will be in touch privately. My thoughts are with you and big changes come to your life.

Navy blue – that’s good way to put it Susan. You are correct, we can always find someone who is suffering just as much as we are and then some.

@Marie, so sorry to read of your loss. In addition to suffering a problem similar to Susan’s, we are facing scary times too as Hubby and his crew were given the “We don’t need you anymore, your contract was not renewed” last October 1. He was shocked to say the least after 15 years of award winning video production.

When it rains it pours but somewhere out there is the rainbow.

Hugs all around gals!

so very sorry to read of what you gals are all going through.:0(
Susan I love the cat! I know you have something quite fun up your sleeve with that image shown, and I know that soon the navy blue days will fade.Sending you all a big hug, every one of you gals.

Oh, the project has me intrigued! Seriously cute hint!

I hope you are starting to feel better as the sun begins to shine! Thinking of you!
