What’s a Baggu you ask? Psssst: Giveaway!

Wellllll, I will tell you!  It is my very favorite market bag! The company is very VERY “green” and the customer service is superb! They have been featured in everything from Martha Stewart Living magazine to Real Simple.  Baggus are sturdy rip-stop fabric bags designed much like your typical plastic grocery sack but Earth friendly of course!  I use mine from everything from groceries to wet towels after swimming.  They are machine washable and line dry in just minutes. I own maybe 15 baggus not counting the set of lovely little mesh produce bags-one of which I included in the giveaway! Along with a regular size Baggu and a Baby Baggu!

I personally have tested the heck out of them and while they say they will hold 25 pounds I am pretty sure I have pushed mine a little past that!  On my last vacation I put my shoes in them to pack and then used them for dirty clothes and everything in between!

They fold so nicely in their little pouches that you can just drop them in your purse or put them in your pocket and there is a great drawstring bag available that you can get to put all your baggus in and just leave them in your vehicle or hang by your door so you will always have them ready for shopping.  Here are mine hanging to dry…aren’t they so pretty? LOVE the colors!

bags1I decided I would give away a set of green bags for my birthday.  You lucky ducks just need to leave me a comment telling me your favorite “green tip” and I will put your name in my big ol’ mason jar and then on Friday the 13th I will draw a name and send out a set of beautiful green baggus just for you! So Friday the 13th will be lucky for someone!

Good luck to all of you and feel free to mention this on your blog or fb pages.  I can’t wait to read all your green tips!  Here’s mine:

NQJC’s Green Tip of the Day: Cloth Napkins.  Make ‘em. Buy ‘em.  Either way, plain and simple.  And much prettier than paper napkins!

Well…that was fun. Compared to abdominal surgery.

Kidding.  A little.  The fiasco that was Hannah’s trip home is over.  And she is here safe and sound with tales to tell and headed to work for half a day. Her original arrival time was 5:20pm and we actually picked her up at 9:30pm.

Could have been SO much worse but it was nerve-racking for her.  She was ready to come home.  We were tired of window shopping and it put us home about 1:30 this morning.  I know waaaaaaaaaaa.  Whiny baby.  I had all intentions of helping with the driving but instead I slept ALL OVER the cab of the truck.  I was so freakin’ sleepy I could NOT stay awake.  So Jerry drank Red Bull and ate corn nuts and probably had never given it a second thought that would actually drive anyway.

We made the grocery store rounds.  Central Market, Whole Foods ~ which we were not terribly impressed with.  Granted, I have been in only two Whole Foods before.  One in London, England and one in Baton Rouge and this one on Kirby in Houston,  paled in comparison. We did have time to eat a very good supper at Salt Grass Steakhouse.  Then on to Hobby Lobby were I spent a whole 79 cents and  Barnes and Noble (Starbucks, really) and then a walk around the Deerbrook Mall.  FINALLY we got the ring from Hannah saying “Please come get me.”

It was a long day but all my chicks are back in the basket and now to get ready for school to start in just a month.  Lots to do! We have heard from Hannah’s college $$ and we are good to go.  As is Rachel.  Two college freshmen from the same household need $$.  And we are happy it is all coming together fairly smoothly. If hadn’t had crazy fingers and typed some insane social security number on Rachel’s application, we would have been finished before now maybe. But I spent a few minutes on the phone this morning with a nice young man named Carl and got it all straightened out.

Let’s see what else?  I am making red beans with rice and tasso for supper and between loads of laundry I am working on my etsy shoppe ~ as usual, stay tuned, I will be making an announcement as soon as possible.

Houston, here we come.

Hannah has been in Canada for 9 days enjoying the company of her Canadians, as she calls them. HER Canadians.  And from all accounts has had a blast.  Her plane lands at IAH this evening at 5-something and Jerry and I are headed over to gather her and her belongings and tales she will be telling.  But before going to the airport we are going to make the rounds.  IKEA (Jerry’s never been), Whole Foods, Central Market and if I can pull it off, Anthropologie. We never miss a chance to go to a grocery store.  How old are we again??? OH YEAH…I have a birthday coming up…SOON! Do you think I ought to do a “Happy Birthday to Me (and you) Giveaway”?  Yeah, me too.  I have a little something in mind.  I will keep you posted.  51.  Man, that used to sound SO old!  Anywho, gotta get rolling this morning but before I go a few photos for you…(l-r, t-b) the last of the tomatoes; a little etsy love; figs from Nan (YUM); fat, happy Siobhan.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!
