Gooseberry Patch’s 101 Hearty Recipes has arrived!

101hearty1I LOVE getting good mail, so imagine how excited I was to get GREAT mail!  And of course I have two copies ~ one for a lucky duck who will win it right here on my blog.  And it is super easy to win.  Just leave a comment at the end of each post pertaining to this giveaway and Early Bird Review and consider yourself entered.  I will be posting 4 delectable recipes from this book over the next two weeks and then on Monday August 8th I will draw a name from the trusty mason jar and announce the winner.  So counting today’s post which is really an introduction, you have 5 chances to get your name in the drawing!  And of course it would be nice of you to tell your friends if you have facebook or a blog of your own.  Here is a little button for you to use:

button101heartyNow I will leave you with a little info on the recipe you will find here early in the morning ~ Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole – the good folks at Gooseberry Patch had me at “bacon“!  This is a recipe that my mom would have LOVED.  She was the absolute reigning Queen of the Casserole.  She could take what anyone else would have considered scraps and make one more meal of of them.  My husband might even eat this one.  He is not a big fan of having his food mixed pre-tummy.  In fact he prefers it not touch on the plate.  But this looks so delicious and super easy and he is literally half way around the world, so the kiddos and I will will chow down tonight.

Speaking of hubby, for those of you that keep up with the more personal side of my blog, Jerry is now in Singapore/Malaysia.  It is 13 hours difference in our time zones, so could he really get further or would he be heading back this way?  Our world has certainly shrunk in the nearly 34 years we have been together.  When we married I would have never dreamed that 1) we would spend so much time apart and 2) that either of us would get to see as much of the world as he has.  He tells me he believes I would really love it there.  Maybe one day we will find out.

Have a great Monday.  We are getting some more much needed rain this morning.  Now I am up from here and busy.  Look for a the recipe and pictures late tonight or early tomorrow morning.

TTFN!

I LOVE Gooseberry. Do you think there is a recipe in any of their books that is not great? I find they are the first cookbooks I go to.
