Cherry Turnovers from Gooseberry Patch’s 101 Breakfast and Brunch Recipes

These have passed inspection and the lips of some very happy peeps this morning.  They were super easy, super delicious and you have to try them!

Cherry Turnovers

  • 17 1/4 oz pkg frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 21 oz can cherry pie filling drained
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 T water

Separate puff pastry sheets and cut each into 4 squares.  Divide pie filling evenly among squares.  Brush pastry edges with water and fold in half diagonally.  Seal and crimp edges with fork.  With a knife, make a small slit in tops of turnovers to vent.  Bake on an ungreased baking sheet at 400 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes, until puffed and golden.  Let cool slightly.  Blend together powdered sugar and water; drizzle over warm turnovers.  Makes 8
