Change is in the air.

And I hope with all that’s in me that is the best kind of change. Tomorrow is a new day in this country. So many firsts. We will be watching all the festivities as a new president takes his oath of office and a new day dawns in America. And today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The day this country observes Dr. King’s birthday (always the 3rd Monday of January). One of his most famous quotes is very appropriate on the eve of what will truly be an historic occasion.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.

One of my favorite shops on the web is having a sale in honor of these two days. Click on the banner below and at check out use the code CHANGE09 to receive a 15% discount before shipping. And of course other restrictions may apply. I challenge you to visit Kristin’s shop and NOT buy something! And please do me a solid and sign up for her newsletter!

Some serious cuteness.

This photo was taken 8 years ago so Rachel was 8 and Benjamin was 4.  Yeah, she is four years older than him but he was as big.  And is bigger now!  They always ended up in our bed, especially if their dad was away.  And frankly, it was like sleeping with two wild animals.  Tossing and turning and kicking.  Dangerous.  But then you get photos like this out of it.  Notice how rolled and tumbled my bed looked!

cutenessI hate that the picture is damaged 🙁  I was looking thru a box of magazines and there it was.  How it managed to get there I iwll never know.  I know my oldest son has a copy of it.  It is his very favorite picture of his youngest siblings.  So I will have to get his copy and make myself a new one.  Just thought I would share.  Little angels.

OWWW! That's going to leave a mark.

My ouchie.  Correction: My ouchiest ouchie.  My elbow is very painful.  Well, honestly I am sore pretty much all over.  My toes are normally kinda pudgy and crooked but not quite like the lovely plum colored one.  I think Ben has apologized about 100 times.  Certainly not his fault ~ just a player in this morning’s comedy of errors. And yeah, I know I need a pedicure.
